WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg has shared a significant update on his contract status . Goldberg last wrestled at the Feb. 19 WWE Elimination Chamber pay - per - view , losing to Roman Reigns via technical submission in a Universal Championship match . Two months before the showdown , Goldberg revealed that he had just one match remaining on his WWE contract . In an interview with Joseph Staszewski of the New York Post , Goldberg revealed that he is still under contract with WWE . The 55 year - old has finished all of the match obligations on his deal , but the former professional football player and wrestling icon remains keen on getting back into the squared circle . " I'm still waiting for that one ( call ) to happen one of these days , " Goldberg said . " But I suppose you never retire in the wrestling world until , so who knows . " 
In the interview with Staszewski , Goldberg added that he was dealing with a shoulder that was " absolutely destroyed over the past four or five years . " . " There was concern that he would have to get surgery on it , but Goldberg has spent ample time rehabbing it and doesn't expect to undergo a procedure after all .
